East Carolina University

East Carolina University College of Nursing is the site of the only Nurse Midwifery Program based in North Carolina.  The program is part of ECU's College of Nursing, and has graduated over 200 nurse midwives since its inception in 1991.

ECUís College of Nursing has once again been named in the nationís top 20 graduate programs in distance education by 2012 US News and World Report.  Ranked #18 out of 79 masterís or doctorate of nursing practice programs in the country, ďour faculty and staff work diligently to maintain a quality program and to provide support equivalent to services on campus", says Dean Sylvia Brown.  "Our program provides both hands-on clinical and virtual experiences that simulate the clinical environment using cutting edge technology.Ē


The Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing
